Take one job you've already built and priced. Put the same measurements into the app, then tell Kaleb where its material list disagrees with what you actually bought. Nobody has ever checked these formulas against a real order, so right now nobody knows whether the app's numbers can be trusted on a real bid. That's the one question Kaleb can't answer from his end — everything else on this page is "does the button work."

What you need: your phone, and one past job you remember the numbers for.

You can't break anything. Nothing you type leaves your phone, and any mess wipes in seconds.

Out of time? Send what you have. There's no all-or-nothing here — a half-finished checklist and one honest note is worth a lot more than nothing, and you can send again later.

Testing alongside your partner? Same page, but your checkmarks and your quotes are yours alone — each of you sends your own results.

On an iPhone? There's one thing only you can check.

Every Share button now has an Email button under it — Email Bug Report, Email Suggestion, Email Results. Tap it and your mail app opens already filled in: address, subject, the report in the message, a copy attached. You just hit Send. Kaleb has only ever run this on Android. If the mail screen doesn't open, or opens missing something, say so — that alone is worth the trip.

No Email button on screen? Your phone has no mail app set up. The Share button above it still works — pick Mail, or text it. Nothing's broken.

Part 1

Get the app on your phone (5 min)

Open the App Store (iPhone) or Play Store (Android) and install the free app called Expo Go (made by "Expo").It's the container the Quote app runs inside while it's in testing.

No need to schedule anything. The test server runs around the clock now, and the QR code below is permanent — scan it whenever you've got time. Bookmark this page and it'll always be here.If it won't connect, text Kaleb "restart it" and try again in a few minutes.

iPhone: open your regular Camera, point it at the QR code above, and tap the yellow link that pops up. Android: open Expo Go itself and use its Scan QR code button.Either way, Expo Go opens and starts loading the Quote app.

Give it a minute. The first load is slow — a spinning wheel for 60–90 seconds is normal. After that it feels like a regular app.It'll come up as ChalkLine, not Quote — that's the old working name, still hanging around in a few spots. Same app.

Won't load / red screen? Text Kaleb "restart it," then scan the same QR again in a few minutes. Totally normal for test versions — nothing's broken on your phone.

Part 2 ★

The real-job math check (20 min — the one that matters)

One job is enough. Pick something you've already built and priced and still remember the order for. A second job is a bonus, not the ask.

First time opening it? Take the two-minute tour. The welcome screen asks where you mostly work — Indoor, Bright sun, or Dark restyles the whole app — then tap Show Me Around.It builds a sample deck quote with you and teaches the six steps: Project → Job & customer → Measurements → Materials & prices → Extras & notes → Review & share. Skipped it? Settings → Help & Learning → Run the First-Quote Tutorial. Prefer one long form instead of steps? Tap All fields at the top.

Start your real job and enter its actual measurements.Ready to pick: Deck, Single Room Remodel, Drywall Room, Flooring. For a kitchen, bathroom, roof, siding, or garage, first go to Settings → Development Switches → turn ON Simulate Premium — otherwise those calculators stay hidden.

Compare the app's material list to what you actually ordered.Quantities close, or way off? Anything missing that you always buy? Anything listed you never use? Rough is fine — "close enough to start from" vs "way off" is the answer.

Add labor the way you actually priced it. The Labor card on the Materials & prices step does hours × rate, per square foot, a flat amount, or your own lines. Then compare the app's total to what you really quoted the customer.Materials and labor together — this is the single most useful number you can send back.

Tap Preview Quote. Would you hand that to a customer as-is?Say what you'd change — wording, layout, what's missing.

Send it back now, while it's fresh. Settings → Testing & Feedback → Start Validation Checklist → the item marked IMPORTANT: enter the measurements from a REAL past job. Tap PASS if the list was close, FAIL if it wasn't, and type what was off.Write it like you'd say it: "said 38 bundles, real job took 45." Then Email Results at the bottom and hit Send. Sending with only this one answer filled in is completely fine — do the rest whenever.

Doing a second job? Tap Start New Quote on the Review step and go again.

Part 3

The rest of the checklist (15 min, stop anytime)

The same in-app checklist covers the rest — saving, sharing, clients, the premium features — and collects your answers so they go back in one tap.

Settings tab → Testing & Feedback → Start Validation Checklist.

Work down the list: PASS if it worked, FAIL if it didn't, SKIP if you couldn't try it. When something fails, type a quick note — "the PDF was blank."Each card says what to do and what "working" looks like. The notes are the gold; a bare FAIL tells Kaleb much less.

Before the Premium section: Settings → Development Switches → turn ON Simulate Premium.Without it the paid features are hidden and every item there would falsely fail. The checklist reminds you too. (The Customer-ready quote toggle is free now — it hides your unit costs and markup from the customer's copy — so it sits in the free section.)

Tap Email Results at the bottom, then hit Send.Already addressed to wrought.quote@gmail.com, your answers in the message and attached as a file. Nothing to type. Half-finished is fine — send now, send a fuller one later. No Email Results button? Tap Share Results and send it however you like.

Anytime

The bug button & quick answers

If anything crashes, freezes, looks wrong, or just confuses you: Settings → Testing & Feedback → Report a Bug. One sentence on what happened, then Email Bug Report and hit Send — already addressed and filled in. No Email button? Share Bug Report above it works the same. Got an idea instead of a bug? Same spot: Suggest a Feature, then Email Suggestion.

Reports carry your phone type and app version automatically — never your quotes, prices, or customers. After you send, your typed text may still be sitting in the box; that's on purpose so nothing gets lost. It doesn't mean it didn't go.

App went blank or red mid-testing?

Kaleb's end probably restarted — scan the same QR again, or text him if it stays down.

Had the app loaded from a while back?

Swipe-close Expo Go and reopen it, or shake the phone and tap Reload. That pulls in the newest version.

Why does it say ChalkLine?

Old working name. It still shows up in Expo Go, at the bottom of a free quote ("Made with ChalkLine"), and on the subject line of the reports you send back. Same app — nothing for you to do.

Closed the app by accident?

Just reopen Expo Go — your work is still there. (That's actually one of the tests.)

Something feels dumb or clunky?

Say so. "This button is in a weird spot" is exactly the feedback that makes the app better. Use the bug button for those too.
